NJ Tranzit is a two-piece jam band based out of Denver, Colorado. The band was formed in April of 2020 shortly after the start of the Covid-19 Pandemic lockdowns. Though the band was formed in New Jersey, the duo decided to relocate to Denver, Colorado to pursue greater opportunities following the lift of the lockdowns. The band consists of Tom Butler on guitar and vocals and Rowan McBurney on drums. NJ Tranzit has a diverse set of influences, which has allowed them to play under many different genres, focusing mostly on rock, funk, country, jazz, and improvisational jams. The band takes a free-form approach to their live sets which results in a wide spectrum of music from heavy rhythmic jams to soft ambient soundscapes.
